Our amazing team of volunteer lawyers and law students are committed to helping others. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Working with community partners and trusted advocates, our common goal is always to seek justice for our community.
The deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd exposed egregious failures in our criminal justice system and the urgent need for change. Understanding the need for change extends to this region, CJC founder, Alana Mathews decided to use her experience and expertise as a former prosecutor and long-time public advocate to collaborate for meaningful reform .
We provide tools and resources to educate, engage, and empower communities on issues that are relevant to them. Using community-centric models, we facilitate action oriented dialogues that are both race-informed and healing-informed to achieve positive outcomes in public safety, trust, accountability. and healing.
